Teacher dont teach me nonsense-Fela

In as much as I hate seeing any person being unable to take care of his needs because he lost his job, I also admit that it's painful seeing the kinds of teachers we have in the Nigerian educational sector. Mind you, the disgraceful competence test recently held in kaduna would have been something to cry of if it was to be in many other states. Both north and south. Kaduna has a huge reputation when it comes to academics.
To prove the state government right, the same teachers let our children to the streets in the name of protests before coming out themselves and causing havoc. The images were disturbing. These are the ones responsible for the moral and intellectual upbringing of the next generation.
When Malam Nasiru El-rufai said that he was preparing for the next generation not the next election, some of us thought it was merely a political stunt. But sacking almost 22000 teachers, who by increasing their salaries is assured of their votes in about a year-this proves it to be a very bold action.
People should also remember that the Kaduna State government can't not hire ghosts. 22000 will be replaced with 22000. The only difference is that the new ones will make a positive impact on our kids.
The education system especially in the North is a joke. I was told in some states, pupils are being thought in their native languages. I don't need to mention some states but I can beat my chest and say that when they are given a primary 2 test, disappointment is certain.
I expect all parents to see this as a good development as the Kaduna state government decides to revamp the system and those in other states to make sure the Governors do what is right. Remind them things must be done the right way. It's not about coming to Abuja everyday and be disturbing law-abiding citizens with sirens; or asking for bail out.
Some Governors should understand that it's ok to do copy copy especially when we all know that SAK brought them there. They don't have any plan or whatsoever to run their states.
What's happening in our North's education is shameful. The north is backward in literaly all the sectors. But if we can get it right from our schools, there will be hope for the next generation.
