Bracing up with new trajectory to fix the peculiar narrative - Sanni Inuwa Baba Someone once said, repeating the same thing over and over again produces the same result. Africa is a continent known for outstanding strides in every sphere of influence. The abundant deposit of resources found on the African soil makes the continent a great force. Nigeria for instance is always blazing the trail with her massive population, talented Human Resources and well-blessed Mother Earth for good habitation. Prior to the current economic state of comatose, many countries had had hope in Nigeria becoming one of the world powers someday. In the 70’s, Poland for instance noted that Nigeria was heading to the top class of economic powers. Our Naira was strong and intimidating; 75k-£, 60k-$1. Today, the narrative is different. Clarion call: In order to brace up with new trajectory to fix the peculiar narrative, the following must be put into consideration: 1) Sourcing for deliberate lea...

#NoToXenophobia

Image
We peacefully matched to the South African high commission to express our displeasure on the Xenophobic attacks in South Africa. Our demands are very simple: 1. We call on the Government of South Africa to put a stop to the killings and destruction of properties of citizens from other African states, with immediate effects. 2.  We ask the Government of South Africa to openly condemn the previous and current xenophobic attacks. There should be no ambiguity as to the official stance of the South African Government on this issue. 3. All those involved in this blatant disregard to universal laws of humaneness should be brought to justice. Wanton destruction of lives and properties is a crime. 4. The victims of these hate crimes must be seen to receive justice. Justice should include compensation for loss of lives and properties. 5. The South African Government should commit their citizens to lawful engagement whenever they are aggrieved. Furthermore, there has to be a bro...

Zamfara: The need for an urgent Approach

In the past few months in Zamfara, the so-called unknown Gunmen have been gruesomely killing citizens like chickens. Last Thursday, more than 35 Nigerians were murdered in Kware Village and it was reported that the killers went back the next day and burnt many houses. Many Nigerians see this incidence as a form of conspiracy or a negligence in the part of the Government.  The Government of Zamfara had been criticized many times for being unable to tackle the issues and at the same time, ignoring the increasing rate of the State’s destruction. It is however important to note that a state Governor can only give some logistics like Accommodation, vehicles, feeding of the Security Operatives etc. But he cannot in any way intervene nor give directives on any operations. During a security meeting last year between the state Governor and the commanders in Zamfara state, the Governor asked them to inform the general public if there was ever a time that he was unable to deliver any requ...
