International Youth Day 2025: We The Youths Launches Innovative Mobile Apps, Strengthens Partnerships

On August 12th, 2025, I hosted the International Youth Day celebration at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, under the theme “Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation through Technology and Partnerships.”

For me, this was more than an event — it was a bold step into the future for young Nigerians.

Launch of the We The Youths Apps

The highlight of the day was the official launch of the We The Youths Apps by our Chairman, Engr. Azunna Chukwu. He explained the unique opportunities it brings: connecting young people to jobs, career clinics, leadership resources, and mentorship. This app is not just a tool; it is a bridge to the future.

Inspiring Voices

I was honored to welcome distinguished guests who made the day remarkable.

  • The Director General of “City Boy”, a leading youth influencer and advocate, delivered powerful remarks on how young Nigerians can take ownership of their future.
  • Hon. Blessing Oyefeso, President of Nigeria Youths in Politics, gave an outstanding motivational speech urging young people to take charge of their destinies.
  • Ambassador Jeremiah Agala, former ED of WTY, reflected on our journey and the leadership that lies ahead.
  • Mrs. Faith Oneohepherojiro inspired us with her words on community development and resilience.
  • Mr. Uyi Joachim shared practical insights on youth leadership and innovation, encouraging participants to embrace technology for national progress.
  • A representative of the National Women Leader of WTY emphasized the importance of young women in nation-building.
  • Our partner, Campus Himpact Hub, joined us, reaffirming their support for youth empowerment.
  • The National Orientation Agency (NOA) was represented, and their delegate expressed how impressed they were by the gathering, adding that they look forward to working with us.

Youth Showcase & Awards

Another moment that gave me joy was the Youth Showcase program. For the first time, I recognized young innovators and creators with cash awards. This was my way of affirming that talent must be encouraged and creativity rewarded.

My Message to the Youths

In my remarks, I stated clearly that the future starts now. I encouraged Nigerian youths — and young people everywhere — to use their time wisely and make it an affirmation that the future has already begun. We cannot afford to postpone destiny. The time for impact, leadership, and transformation is today.

Grateful for the Support

I remain deeply grateful to the media who have consistently stood with me. Aso TV, Radio Nigeria, Channels, AIT, and NTA were present, giving the event wide coverage and ensuring that the message of youth empowerment reached across the nation.

Looking Ahead

What excites me most is that many government agencies, NGOs, and civil society organizations expressed their admiration for the success of the event, and several are looking forward to partnerships and MOUs with We The Youths.

For me, this was not just a celebration of International Youth Day — it was proof that when young people come together with vision and courage, we can shape the present and define the future. The journey has only just begun. And indeed, the future is already here.
