International day against Drug abuse and illicit trafficking
In commemoration of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, We The Youths joined millions of voices around the world in raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of prevention, treatment, and recovery.
This year’s theme, “Breaking the Chains: Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery for Everyone,” served as a timely reminder of our collective responsibility to protect and empower young people in the fight against substance abuse.
The event was opened with a stirring keynote speech by the Chairman of We The Youths, Engr. Azunna Chukwu, who reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to championing youth-centered solutions to drug abuse. He emphasized the importance of community engagement, mental health support, and creating alternatives through education and entrepreneurship. His call to action challenged stakeholders to move beyond condemnation toward compassion, support, and sustainable reform.
