New Sheriff in Town- Sanni Inuwa Baba
After making a great effort to eradicate the abuse of drugs in Katsina State, the new commissioner of Police who was recently posted to Kano, Mohammed Wakili, has again started making wonderful efforts in cleansing the ancient city.
In recent times, there hasn’t been any commissioner of Police nor any Security Personnel including agencies like The NDLEA that has taken the fight against drug abuses and related offenses as CP Mohammed does....
CP Mohammed who was disgusted by the level of how drugs have been abused by men and women, both young and old from every class in Kano, publicly affirmed his total commitment towards his aggressive clamp down of both the distributors and their buyers.

According to a report by the NDLEA, it rated Kano as having the highest drug abuse cases based on the number of seizures, arrests of addicts and convictions of arrested dealers.
Although the Hisbah has been making some efforts, drug abuse might not be their immediate concern neither is it a priority for the state government. People criticize both the religious and the traditional leaders for not standing firm against this atrocity and coming up with a lasting solution to the problem.
The use of illicit drugs in Nigeria gave rise to most of the monstrosity we are facing today.
An unfortunate thing is that CP Mohammed who resumed office few weeks ago, arresting hundreds, would be going on retirement very soon.
Our Prayer is that the resilience and the Zeal being exhibited by the commissioner should be a wake up call and a motivation to his colleagues, leaders and Governments at all levels as well as ordinary citizens
