Believe in yourself

Even though things can never be so perfect, you have to be focused and keep moving towards the right direction. You should distance yourself from the things or people that hold you back. You must by all means chase what’s in front of you by leaving what’s behind you. Don’t waste your precious time in trying to fix what has happened else you won’t achieve what’s coming to you. Invest in yourself, be a dreamer, achieve whatever you want, value your time, jump above obstacles, most importantly- believe in yourself.

Demand for good governance

Have you ever done some deep research only to realize that if you talk about it with people, they will think you are crazy? The saying that you can change the world is “unbelievably true”. The rising number of youths according to politicians, especially after being elected in offices is a problem/ and they might be true if we use our number for thuggery, drug abuse and insulting each other- which usually ends up for the benefit of the politicians.  But we always have a choice ... to use the social media to educate ourselves rather than being internet trolls and causing nuisance here and there. No single sector in the country is in a good shape and this alone should be very discomforting. The people we put in positions acquire wealth that can’t be explained and we sadly turn mute. And they would be praised for the beautiful cars they drive with their families and the mansions they build for their mistresses. Every leader must be accountable for his/her actions in office.

Lessons from the HEN

1. She first lays enough eggs before sitting on them: GOOD PLANNING. 2. When she starts sitting on her eggs, she minimizes movement: DISCIPLINE. 3. She physically loses weight while sitting on her eggs due to decreased feeding: SACRIFICE and SELF DENIAL. 4. She can sit on eggs from another hen:INDISCRIMINATE and GENEROUS. 5. She sits on her eggs for 21 days, patiently waiting and even if they don't hatch she will still lay eggs again: FAITH, HOPE and COURAGE. 6. She detects unfertilized eggs and rolls them out: SENSITIVE and DISCERNING. 7. She abandons the rotten eggs and starts caring for the hatched chicks even if it is only one: WISE, CONSCIOUS and REALISTIC. 8. No one can touch her chick: PROTECTIVE LOVE. 9. She gathers all her Chicks together: UNITY of PURPOSE. 10. She doesn't abandon her chicks before they mature: MENTORING

HUMOUR

I used N4k to buy fuel for my car and my remaining N1k to get food in a resturant before I face Lagos traffic. As I ordered food and sat down to eat, a man sitting beside me and in a nice shirt said, "I luv the way u eat, try their snail, i will pay". I hastily added 4 pieces of snail for N2000 and continued eating . He said again,"u eat so well, pls add a bottle of wine so dat u can drinkafter eating". I hastily made the order and was having fun.My total bill came up to about N10,000... I thanked him for accepting to pay. As I stood to leave, my car key fell down, and I bent to pick it, I discovered dat the man was bare-footed!!! Alas, he was a mad man. He laughed at me and said," De way dem go beat u 4 here ehh, na only God fit save u.!".

Tolerance is a virtue.

It is a version of the golden rule in that, insofar as we want others to treat us decently, we need to treat them decently as well. It is also a pragmatic formula for the functioning of society, as we can see in the omnipresent wars between different religions, political ideologies, nationalities, ethnic groups, or other us-versus-them divisions. We can’t talk about tolerance when it’s only to our advantage. We must also seek to possess a high sense of ... respect for individuals we meet on a daily basis. This would help define how much we really know and show tolerance for others. It amazes me when a Facebook user decides to become a friend with a particular person on social media, in most times, he/she sends the request for friendship. But on each of the person’s posts, what he concentrates on is reminding them of the weaknesses of their tribes and religions. All he does is constantly standing against “them”. I am very sure no person would appreciate such act upon his. It
