where is the humanity?

In the midst of crisis, I remain optimist.
Though I had to slow down and take a look around
Our problem started temporary but now seems itinerary
I had the idea from the media that the solution was nowhere
A news crew said it’s because of some few people’s views
For me, it’s no humor that humans have lost their humanity
Peeps were killed in trying to find what to eat
Mothers tortured when trying to nurture
I object to illiteracy, ignorance and poverty as the source of this agony
But mere heartlessness, unimaginable greediness, senseless cruelness and the intense feelings of hopelessness
Leaders create excuses, followers blame the leaders, and oppressors bind to stay on the ladder and the oppressed trying to break the ladder. Sadly, by any means necessary.
Some who believe in the messengers don’t understand the message
People live in fear, horror is what they hear
Gloomed in anger, murder, danger with less laughter
Soldiers on the streets, civilians seeking for protection in barracks
Lawmakers in other places make laws, establish visions, fast-track the 21st century technologies
Ours debate on the contractors to give contracts, impeachments and break their heads.
Against all odds, I do believe in the Nigerian dream, “E go better”
